PROGRAM SCHEDULE (Elementary)
The BAS program runs during the school year. It is available on all regularly scheduled school days, "in-service" days, and February and April vacation weeks.
The morning session starts at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 9:00 a.m. The afternoon session starts at 3:30 p.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m. On scheduled half days, the afternoon session begins immediately following dismissal.
When school is delayed due to weather conditions, the program is delayed accordingly. A child may be registered for morning, afternoon, both, or any combination of mornings and afternoons, Monday through Friday.
Temporary care will be considered where space permits. This type of request and the appropriate forms must be completed in advance of using the program.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
- To provide safe, supervised before and after school activity for children of both working and non-working parents.
- To provide an environment that promotes the development of personal and interpersonal relationships between and among children through one-to-one and group activities.
- To provide developmentally appropriate structured and unstructured activities indoors and outdoors.
- To promote parent involvement through membership on the Board of Directors (several Board members are parents of children in the program) and as Corporators of our non-profit corporation.
- To provide tuition assistance where appropriate.
Each day the children will be offered a wide variety of activities, indoors and outdoors, that will be both structured and unstructured. This provides each child with an opportunity to make choices about what he/she would like to do that day.
